Debt Indecision - Is It Holding You Back?
When you think about your debt situation, is there anything holding you back, such as frustration over the debt in the first place, or your own indecision as to how to go about getting ahead of your debt, once and for all?
Like other decisions in life, it can be difficult to take action when you’re a bit afraid or unsure as to where to begin. This is a common occurrence, so the key is to stop and take a deep breath, stop beating up on yourself for the debt you’ve accumulated, and focus solely upon getting rid of it, bit by bit. There’s never a quick way to true success (even lottery winners squander their funds in very little time, statistics tell us), so take it one step at a time, and remain positive with your goals in mind.
I found that even as I sacrificed to get rid of the debt I used to have, I “kept my eyes on the prize”, so to speak. That really played a big role in getting me through to the finish line, and wow was it ever a sweet feeling of freedom and accomplishment. The bottom line is that anyone can conquer their debt, but it takes the knowledge, commitment and consistency to see things through. While many say they’re “going to get out of debt”, many never do what it really takes to get the job done. I also found that once you get so fed up with being in debt that you just can’t stand it anymore, then you’ve got the mindset necessary to win the game. Any goal is tough to achieve when someone’s mindset isn’t one hundred percent committed to the end result.
